Class of Japonism

Just finished this piece, comes across as more of an experimental piece, it was aimed at a classroom/education editorial piece, a self initiated brief.

I've been toying around with various filters and trying to keep collage/montage elements to the illustration to show a transition between my earlier collage works to the new digital style.

Working on another image now as more of a final classroom/education image regarding Japanese Class Rooms. Should have it posted in a few days I hope.

Still have a load of work still that I'm slaving away at, hoping to get it all finished off fairly soon.

Pink Flower

Here's a quickie I did while warming up on Photoshop. I kinda like it...

Work on the newer selection of images is still going well, all the work is coming along smoothly and I'm hoping to have lots more of the newer work uploaded in no time!

On a side note, just wanna say how FANTASTIC the Writers' & Artists' Yearbook 2007 is. If you're a struggling or new illustrator/artist then do yourself a favour and go pick up a copy.
I'm relishing the chance of doing some intense research and seeing which editorial/advertising/publishing area's will best suit me.

I'm still scheduled for the Birmingham Art Week sales, thanks to Fused Magazine, just gotta finalise all the details, so all this new work isn't going to go to waste! Hopefully have lots of this stuff up and printed as Limited Edition prints in no time!

I've got SO much stuff in the works it's unbelievable and I wanna show you it all right now, but then it's not all complete just yet and won't have the same effect in its unfinished state. Boo Hoo!

Chateau Latour...(poverty=no wine)

Here's an image I was playing around with recently, I've been trying to create some imagery based around a load of subjects, one of them being the extremely delicious and exceptionally delightful French wine, Chateau Latour.

For those of you actually following my style and what I do, you'll notice it's in a fairly new direction for myself.
It's been my objective to develop work that is new not only compared to my own style but also newer in someways. Obviously, it carries a touch of the old avante-garde French posters from yesteryear, it's all in the recipe!

Nevermind. It'll give me chance to keep this as updated and regular as possible.

On a recent update for all you folks out there, had 2 images published in a little magazine called The Arts Pneumonia issue 4.

I've also been invited to take part in Birmingham Art Week, selling limited edition prints etc. so if you're in Birmingham around 16th-18th of March, then come down and check out some of my work. I'll post the address of the damn place later...still awaiting all that info to be sent to me.

Might even get my website updated soon. Which reminds me, head over to Chris Ledward and check out my work.

I'm in the middle of sorting out a big selection of new work too, no more commissions yet, still struggling to get myself active again. Something which I'll go very indepth with in a future posting.

For now, know that I'll be posting up some new self-initiated work in the VERY near future!
